Family Pride is coordinating the effort for LGBT family visibility at the White House. For more information, click here.
According to an article published by the Washington Blade, over 100 LGBT families have signed up to attend the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on APril 17, 2006.
Family Pride, an LGBT family group, has been advocating the participation of LGBT families in the event.
When asked at a press conference about how activists were "pushing their agenda on the rest of us", Bush Administration Press Secretary Scott McClellan dodged the question by stating:
"Well, this event is a time to celebrate Easter and to have a good family celebration here at the White House," McClellan replied. "And in terms of any other details about it, I think it's still a few months off, so we'll talk about it as we get closer. I've seen a couple of reports about it; I don't know how extensive that reporting has been. But this has been a family event for a long time and the President always looks forward to this event."====== Okay... so I just have to say something: Since when did inclusion of all types of families become an acting of "pushing" our "agenda" on the "rest of you"??? The Bush Administration wants to make this a family event... well, they should include all families.
