Q Television Network is a national gay television network run by and programmed for an audience that identifies it as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ... straight.
I received an email from a reader of my blog informing me that there is at least one LGBT/straight television network available to TV viewers in North Carolina.
Q Television Network is available to TV viewers in Raleigh, NC, on the Time Warner Cable Premium Digital tier, channel 480.
Interested viewers can call Time Warner Cable for subscription information at 1-866-4-TWC-NOW (1-866-489-2669). You can also visit Q Television's subscription information page to see other areas where the network is available.
Sometime last semester I was contacted by LOGO, the new network from MTV, about trying to get people to urge Time Warner Cable to carry the network here in the Greensboro area. In the past few weeks I have also tried contacting UNC TV (email them at viewer@unctv.org to urge them to carry "In the Life", the only LGBT newsmagazine show in the nation.
