Log Cabin convention to feature Senator John Danforth

According to an email I received and the website of the Log Cabin Republicans, former Senator John Danforth (R-MO) will be attending the Log Cabin Republican's national convention, April 27-30, 2006. Senator Danforth will also be receiving the Log Cabin's 'Spirit of Lincoln' Award. Senator Danforth, an Episcopalian priest and former US Ambassador to the United Nations, has been a strong ally for LGBT people in America. Congressman Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), the only openly gay Republican on Capitol Hill, will also be honored by the group. Needless to say, Congressman Kolbe has also been a staunch supporter of LGBT citizens.
