According to an article published by 365gay.com, an amendment to the Virginia Constitution which would ban gay marriage, passed the Virginia House of Delegates on Wednesday. The amendment, like the current statute on Virginia books, would be the most stringent ban against same-sex marriage, civil unions and even other smaller legal recognitions and agreements of and between same-sex couples. The vote took place in the House Privileges and Elections Committee and was approved 18 to 4. For more information about the amendment and how you can help to stop it, especially if you live in Virginia, please visit Equality Virginia. P.S. - The State of North Carolina remains the ONLY Southern state to kill a marriage amendment bill in our legislature and not put it to vote to the People. And, guess what... we've done it for two years in a row! Technorati Tags: , , , , , , ,
