Schwarzeneger appoints two Log Cabin gays

According to a post on the California Log Cabin Blog, California Governor Arnold Schwarzeneger has appointed to more openly gay citizens to positions in the state Government. Unlike his appointment of a lesbian to be his chief advisor, the two new gay appointees are Republicans and active members of Log Cabin Republicans. According to the post:
Dr. Tod Burnett, Ed.D., 43, of Sacramento, has been appointed vice chancellor for California Community Colleges. Burnett has served as deputy appointments secretary for the Office of the Governor since 2003. Previously, he was director of state and local government relations for the United States Environmental Protection Agency and public works commissioner for the City of Los Angeles. Burnett earned a Doctorate degree in education from Pepperdine University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $108,644. Burnett is a Republican. Gregory Gandrud, 44, of Carpinteria, has been appointed to the Recreational Trails Committee. He has been president of Gandrud Financial Services Corporation since 1991. Previously, he owned Trojan Imaging Systems, was product manager for McGhan InstruMed Corporation, and president and chairman of International PhotoMed Corporation. Gandrud is also a member of the Carpinteria City Council and the Montecito Trails Foundation. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no salary. Gandrud is a Republican.
